VSK - AARA
A mid-rise residential project developed on a 60,000 sq.ft site in Coimbatore, conceived as a climate-responsive urban housing development with a distinct architectural identity. The design is articulated through stacked rectilinear volumes and a pronounced vertical rhythm, carefully modulated by recessed planes and projecting window elements to reduce the perceived scale of the built mass.
The facade is composed as a layered envelope system, integrating projected window boxes, vertical fins, and textured wall surfaces to generate depth, shadow articulation, and visual continuity across the elevations. A restrained yet expressive material and colour palette defines the character of the building—combining earthy green and neutral beige tones with white vertical accents to achieve a balanced, contemporary expression. The projecting window frames act as both visual markers and passive shading devices, contributing to improved thermal performance by minimizing direct solar exposure and enhancing occupant comfort.
